My wife and I were married in 1993 and I quickly set about finding a dog to join us in our house. I grew up with a lab but living in a smaller house decided that we would prefer a some what smaller dog but I still wanted to have a sporting dog.
I love to grouse hunt and after looking into many breeds decided on the Brittany. With out really knowing what I was looking for I purchased our first dog out of the paper from a local back yard breeder. Jersey is now almost 14 years old and has been a constant companion to us. Since Jersey we added an older female brittany Ami who has since crossed over the Rainbow Bridge and waiting for us on the other side.
We currently have three brittanys in the house. Jersey our oldest who is almost 14. Ch. Ruffwood's Dixie Girl FD ( Dixie ) who is 4 and will be 5 in August and our newest addition, Knine's Ghost Rider FDJ ( Maverick ) who will be two in August as well and is the only male in house.
We have gotten involved with the dogs and enjoy participating in Field Tests, AKC and American Field trials as well as confirmation shows. We have titles on both of our younger dogs and we are currently working towards others titles as well. My real enjoyment is walking the woods and edges looking for grouse with my brittanys. There is nothing like walking up past your own dog on point and flushing a ruffed grouse for them and then sending her on for the retrieve after you have fired the shot! My dogs know and love when I take my shotgun from the vault and as much. You can see the excitement in their eyes.
I hope you enjoy our web site and we would love to hear from you if you have any questions or comments. Please feel free to join our message board as well. It is place for like minded people to talk about our bird dogs, training and most other things that may cross our minds.
Sincerely,
